Faith, Family, Friends

If you are searching for a church home where you can experience an uplifting sense of belonging to a family of faith, in a ministry that speaks to today's generations, we invite you to come experience Prosper United Methodist Church.  Below is a sampling of fellowship opportunities that abound at PUMC.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  This group of Christian women, with their many gifts, is unified by one spirit to participate in God's mission in all areas of life.  All women are invited to attend this group and enjoy a great time together of fellowship and learning.  The local unit meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00pm.  New members are always welcome.  For more information about UMW, please contact the church office.

Prosper 50

Prosper 50 is a group of adults aged 50 and older who meet monthly for food, fellowship and a variety of activities.  All community members aged 50 and older are welcome to attend Prosper 50 meetings.  Prosper 50 is held the 4th Tuesday of every month, except the summer months (June, July, August) and December at the First Baptist Church in Prosper.  The meal is “Pot Luck” where members provide meat,  side dishes, dessert and beverages.  The program is at 11AM and lunch is served at Noon.  Dues are 50 cents per person when you join.

Senior Dinner

There is a monthly Senior Dinner held the 2nd Thursday of every month.   Your presence is all we require.

Christmas by Candlelight

Each December, Prosper United Methodist Women host this program of music, reflection and fellowship.  Meeting in the sanctuary during the early evening, all women in the community are invited to reflect on the Advent season and take a break from their holiday stresses.  The sanctuary, decorated for the coming of the Christ child, is lit solely by candlelight while the inspirational music program is performed.  Following the program, everyone retires to the fellowship hall for dessert, served by candlelight by the men in the church.    For more information please contact the church office.

Lord's Acre

Each autumn, PUMC hosts a daylong festival full of family fun.  Activities include games, lunch, music, crafts, silent and live auctions, and a sweet shop.  All families are welcome to join in the festivities.  Based on the premise that long ago, farmers set aside the yield from one acre of land to do the Lord's work, proceeds raised during the Lord's Acre Autumn Festival are used in local, national and global missions.
